1. to have an ace up one’s sleeve
Если у вас есть an ace up your sleeve, это значит, что у вас есть козырь про запас или скрытое преимущество.
Example: Your new product will be an ace up our sleeve.
2. to get to the bottom of something
Если кто-то намеревается to get to the bottom of something, то он хочет разобраться, в чем дело, или докопаться до сути.
Example: We’d better get to the bottom of what went wrong with our marketing campaign.
3. in the pipeline
Если что-то находится in the pipeline, то это в процессе или в работе.
Example: A new version of our software is currently in the pipeline.
4. smooth waters
Компания, находящаяся в smooth waters, без затруднений делает свой бизнес (=плавает в спокойных водах).
Example: Despite its success, this company has not always sailed on smooth waters.
5. your guess is as good as mine
В ситуации, когда ни вы, ни ваш визави, не знаете ответа на какой-либо вопрос или причины происходящего, скажите: «Your guess is as good as mine» ‑ Я знаю столько же, сколько и вы.
Example: «What’s up with the water cooler?» «Your guess is as good as mine!»
