Tips that apply for spoken and written English
1. We often use the Passive Voice, when describing how something is produced or done:
All the products are checked for their quality before being delivered.
2. Wenn there is a necessity to mention the «doer» in a passive sentence, do it with by:
Such evaluations are done by external experts.
3. To talk about regular processes, use the Present Simple:
Each week we publish our weekly newsletter.
Tips that refer only to spoken English
1. When telling someone how to do something, you can add you to the Imperative:
(You) switch the machine on here.
2. To explain how things are done, use have to or have got to. Do not use the more formal «must»:
To conduct a marketing campaign, you have to spend time targeting the correct audience at first.
